Welcome to Piazza Navona, one of the most charming and lively squares in Rome!

Piazza Navona is an architectural marvel that captures the heart and spirit of anyone lucky enough to walk among its splendours. Located in the historic center of Rome, this square is a jewel of art and history that dates back to the 1st century AD.
The square was originally a stadium, known as the “Stadium of Domitian”, used for ancient sports games. Today, the square maintains its elongated shape and has three splendid fountains adorning its centre.

The most impressive and famous fountain in Piazza Navona is the “Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi” (Fountain of the Four Rivers), the work of the famous Baroque sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The fountain represents the four great rivers of the world at the time: the Nile, the Ganges, the Danube and the Rio de la Plata, each represented by a statue symbolizing the continent that the river crosses. The majesty and beauty of this fountain are a testament to Bernini’s artistic genius.

A few steps from the Fountain of the Four Rivers, you will find another extraordinary fountain, the “Fontana del Moro”, also by Bernini, with a statue of a Moor fighting with a dolphin. And finally, there is the “Fountain of Neptune”, added at a later date with its imposing statue of the god of the sea, created by Antonio Della Bitta.

But Piazza Navona is not only breathtaking fountains and sculptures. The square is surrounded by splendid Baroque buildings, such as the Palazzo Pamphilj and the Palazzo Braschi, which add a touch of nobility and history to the environment.

Today, Piazza Navona is a popular destination for tourists and Romans alike. Here you can breathe a vibrant and cheerful atmosphere, with street artists, musicians, painters and many places where you can taste the Italian culinary specialities.

Sipping a coffee in one of the historic cafes in the square or enjoying an ice cream while strolling among the architectural wonders is an experience that will remain in your heart forever.

If you are in Rome, don’t miss the opportunity to visit Piazza Navona, a place that enchants the senses and captivates the soul with its timeless beauty.
