Roma Verde is a five-day experiential Italian course combining classroom learning with botanical gardens, local food markets, an e-bike tour, contemporary architecture, craftsmanship and authentic Roman lifestyle.

Every experience turns the city into an extension of the classroom. Designed for A2 and B1 learners, this programme immerses you in the rhythm of the city.

Classroom language immediately practised through Rome.

5 days · Monday–Friday · 25 training hours

Timetable labels distinguish in the classroom, outside the classroom, lunch break and travel time. Lunch breaks and logistical transfers are not counted as training. All classroom lessons take place at Via Tibullo 16.
MONDAY

BOTANICAL ROME

09:30–11:30IN THE CLASSROOM

Introduction to urban nature and biodiversity. Nature and plants, seasons, colours, climate, parks and gardens, describing natural environments and expressing preferences. A2: practical descriptions. B1: biodiversity, green spaces and quality of life.

11:30–12:30LUNCH BREAK

Lunch break (not counted as training).

12:30–13:05TRAVEL

Public transport and short walk (approximately 30–35 minutes; not counted as training).

13:05–16:05OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

Botanical Garden Experience: visit to the Orto Botanico di Roma. Explore botanical collections, Mediterranean vegetation and garden environments while practising Italian. Entrance included; no additional external guide is promised.

TUESDAY

LOCAL FOOD & ITALIAN MARKETS

09:30–11:30IN THE CLASSROOM

Italian through local food and sustainable consumption: seasonal products, regional food, local production, shopping, quantities and prices, provenance, packaging, responsible consumption and food waste. A2: practical communication for shopping, quantities, prices and food preferences. B1: discussing local food systems, provenance, packaging, responsible consumption and food waste.

11:30–11:45TRAVEL

Approximately 10–15 minutes on foot (not counted as training).

11:45–13:45OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

Mercato Trionfale Experience: teacher-led educational visit discovering seasonal products, fresh ingredients, traditional food, regional specialities, local shopping habits, provenance and sustainable food choices.

13:45–14:45LUNCH AT THE MARKET

Informal lunch at Mercato Trionfale, included (not counted as training).

14:45–15:00TRAVEL

Return to school (not counted as training).

15:00–16:00IN THE CLASSROOM

Concluding language activity: compare products, describe purchases and discuss what participants discovered.

WEDNESDAY

THE GREEN SIDE OF ROME BY E-BIKE

09:30–11:00IN THE CLASSROOM

Italian through sustainable mobility and slow tourism: bicycles, directions, parks and landscapes, urban mobility, describing routes, environmental choices and sustainable tourism. A2: practical directions and descriptions of routes and landscapes. B1: comparing forms of urban mobility and discussing environmental choices and sustainable tourism.

11:00–12:00LUNCH BREAK

Lunch break (not counted as training).

12:00–12:30TRAVEL

Transfer to the e-bike meeting point (approximately 25–30 minutes; not counted as training).

12:30–16:00OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

Guided E-Bike Experience through Villa Borghese, Villa Ada and Coppedè. Approximately 3.5 hours including electric bicycle, helmet, professional cycling guide and guided route. Route may adjust for weather, safety and operations; full experience included.

THURSDAY

ANCIENT & CONTEMPORARY ROME

09:30–11:30IN THE CLASSROOM

Italian through architecture and urban transformation: ancient and modern architecture, buildings and public spaces, urban development, historic and contemporary Rome. A2: describing places, buildings and preferences. B1: discussing urban transformation, the relationship between ancient and contemporary Rome, and heritage preservation.

11:30–12:30LUNCH BREAK

Lunch break (not counted as training).

12:30–13:00TRAVEL

Transfer to the Ara Pacis area (approximately 25–30 minutes; not counted as training).

13:00–14:30OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

Museo dell'Ara Pacis: visit focused on the relationship between ancient heritage and contemporary architecture. Admission included.

14:30–15:15OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

Piazza Augusto Imperatore: educational walk exploring urban transformation and historic monuments with contemporary public spaces.

15:15–16:00OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

The Tiber and Urban Life: walk with Italian activities related to urban environment, public spaces and sustainable mobility.

FRIDAY

SLOW ROME: CRAFTSMANSHIP & ITALIAN LIFESTYLE

09:30–11:30IN THE CLASSROOM

Italian through craftsmanship and responsible consumption: traditional craftsmanship, materials, shopping, handmade products, repair and reuse, conscious consumption and historic neighbourhoods. A2: describing objects and materials, shopping and expressing preferences. B1: discussing craftsmanship, sustainability, restoration, repair, reuse and conscious consumption.

12:30–12:45TRAVEL

Walk to Borgo Pio (not counted as training).

12:45–13:30OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

Borgo Pio: explore the historic neighbourhood, its small businesses, shops and traditional urban character.

13:30–13:50TRAVEL

Walk via Ponte Sant'Angelo towards Via dei Coronari (not counted as training).

13:50–14:50OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

Via dei Coronari: explore a historic street known for antiques and traditional commercial activities, focusing on craftsmanship, restoration, reuse and conscious consumption. No private artisan workshop visits are promised.

14:50–15:45FINAL EXPERIENCE

Italian Tasting & Course Conclusion: informal tasting and guided conversation. Participants share experiences and practise the language acquired. Included; certificates are presented at the conclusion.

The schedule of individual off-site activities may be adjusted slightly according to partner availability, without changing the total of 25 programme hours.
